Therapeutic Gardening
The therapeutic garden plays a central role in the therapeutic-rehabilitative community model. Research shows that hands-on work in direct contact with soil and plants induces calm, tranquillity, and high concentration ability, becoming an integral part of the life of our community members.
The scent of the soil, the touch, the care for various plants, the attention to detail alongside viewing the bigger picture and planning the garden, all provide a space for individuals coping with military-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to express their abilities, to take responsibility for the shared environment, experience success, and also confront challenges along the way.
Additionally, working in the garden creates a pleasant, blossoming rural space, radiating tranquillity to all who enter this safe haven.
